Lucas (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the U.S. House to represent Oklahoma's 3rd Congressional District. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.

He was first elected to the House in a special election in 1994 to represent Oklahoma's 6th Congressional District, which was eliminated in 2003.

At the start of the 116th Congress, Lucas was a member of the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on Financial Services, and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

Lucas was born in Cheyenne, OK. He earned a B.S. from Oklahoma State University in 1982. Lucas began his political career in the Oklahoma House of Representatives, where he served from 1988 until his election to Congress in 1994.
